Srinagar, Aug 30: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review the condition of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) and other major roads that have been badly damaged by the recent spell of incessant rains.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the swift restoration of road connectivity and smooth traffic movement, particularly on the vital NH-44, which serves as the lifeline between the Valley and the rest of the country. He also instructed the concerned departments to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the Kashmir Valley and other remote regions affected by the disruption.
