Srinagar, Aug 30: The Meteorological Department (MeT) Srinagar on Friday forecast widespread rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the next three days, warning of heavy to very heavy showers in parts of the Jammu region.
According to the MeT advisory, light to moderate rain is expected at many places across the Union Territory between August 30 and September 2. The department said Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.
“Moderate to heavy rain with intense showers is also likely over Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts,” MET said, adding that parts of the Kashmir division could also experience brief spells of intense showers.
The weather department has advised people in vulnerable areas to remain cautious, citing the possibility of waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides in hilly terrains due to the predicted downpour.
