Bandipora, June 7: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch J&K has chargesheeted two persons for allegedly securing service extensions through cheating and forged documents.

The accused, identified as Ghulam Mohammad Bhat and Assadullah Bhat, both residents of Rakhi Shilwat, Sumbal in Bandipora district, were chargesheeted in FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC before the Court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Sumbal.

According to the EOW, the investigation revealed that the accused concealed their educational qualifications, falsely projected themselves as illiterate, and obtained altered dates of birth using fraudulent certificates. The manipulated records enabled them to unlawfully extend their service tenure and draw undue financial benefits, causing loss to the State exchequer.
