Srinagar, Oct 24 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved and released ₹16.65 crore under the Post-Matric Scholarship (Tribal) scheme for FY 2025–26, comprising ₹14.99 crore as the central share and ₹1.66 crore as the UT share under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The funds have been disbursed through BEAMS via the SNA SPARSH platform to ensure transparent and timely transfer to beneficiaries.

Minister for Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, said the allocation underscores the Omar Abdullah Government’s commitment to empowering tribal youth through education and ensuring no deserving student is deprived due to financial hardship.

He emphasized accountability and efficiency in fund disbursal, directing officers to expedite verification and direct benefit transfers. Rana also thanked the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for its continued support, reaffirming that education remains central to the government’s inclusive development agenda.
