New Delhi/Lucknow, May 23 — A devastating storm accompanied by lightning has wreaked havoc across Delhi-NCR and several parts of Uttar Pradesh over the past 32 hours, claiming at least 50 lives and leaving dozens injured.
According to official figures released by the administration, the fatalities include 17 women and 33 men. The storm swept through 21 districts, uprooting trees, damaging infrastructure, and causing severe traffic disruptions.
Emergency services have been deployed to the affected areas, while local authorities are assessing the extent of the damage. Residents have been advised to stay indoors as weather conditions remain unstable.
