May 23: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat visited the Singhpora-Chatroo area in Kishtwar district, where a fierce encounter between security forces and terrorists is ongoing. The operation has already claimed the life of one soldier, while four terrorists are believed to still be holed up in the area, officials said.

The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone) Bhim Sen Tuti and Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil. During the visit, the top police officials reviewed the operational strategy and assessed the ground situation, a police spokesperson said.

Senior officers from the police, army, and paramilitary forces leading the operation held detailed discussions with the DGP to ensure coordination and effective tactical planning in the difficult, forested terrain.

The anti-terror operation, launched following specific intelligence inputs, continues amid tight security and challenging weather conditions.
