New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursdayn during his visit to DRDO headquarters said that weapon systems developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) played a decisive role in Operation Sindoor, significantly boosting the morale and operational effectiveness of Indian soldiers.

Addressing scientists and officials during his visit to DRDO Headquarters on the occasion of the 68th DRDO Foundation Day, Singh lauded the organisation’s contribution to strengthening India’s defence preparedness. He said indigenous technologies have increasingly become force multipliers for the armed forces, reducing dependence on imports and enhancing battlefield confidence.

The Defence Minister expressed strong confidence in DRDO’s role in building the proposed ‘Sudarshan Chakra’, envisioned as a nationwide air defence shield to protect India against aerial threats. He described the project as a critical step towards ensuring comprehensive national security in an evolving threat environment.
