New Delhi, Jan 1:
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday extended New Year greetings and called for turning 2026 into a mass movement to protect the rights of vulnerable sections of society.

In a post on X, Kharge urged people to safeguard fundamental rights, including the right to work, the right to vote and the right to live with dignity. Emphasising the need to uphold constitutional values, he said the New Year should strengthen the collective resolve to protect democracy.

“On this joyful New Year, I extend my warmest greetings to all of you. Let us make this year a mass movement to protect the rights of the vulnerable — the right to work, the right to vote, and the right to live with dignity,” Kharge said.

He also stressed the importance of preserving the Constitution and democratic institutions, calling upon citizens to remain vigilant in defending India’s democratic ethos.
