Ramban, April 20: Due to persistent heavy rainfall and the threat of flash floods, all educational institutions—both government and private—will remain closed across Ramban district on Monday, April 21.

The Deputy Commissioner of Ramban made the announcement via a post on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the closure includes schools, colleges, and technical institutes. “All Government and Private Schools, Colleges, and Technical Education Institutions in district Ramban shall remain closed on 21.04.2025 due to inclement weather and flash flood risk. Stay indoors, stay safe!” the post read.

Earlier on Sunday, a cloudburst occurred near the Chenab Bridge in the Dharamkund area, resulting in sudden flash floods. The incident claimed three lives and caused serious damage to several homes.

Emergency teams responded swiftly, managing to rescue around 90 to 100 individuals who were stranded in the flood-affected zone. Relief efforts and damage evaluations are currently in progress.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated through official channels.
