Jammu, Nov 23 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level security meeting in Jammu to assess the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir, recent developments along the Line of Control (LoC), and ongoing operations against terrorist networks, officials said.
The meeting, held at the Jammu Convention Centre at 11 am, was attended by top officials from the Army, J&K Police, CRPF, intelligence agencies, and civil administration.
Sources said discussions centred on recent security-related incidents, including last week’s blast in Delhi, and their possible impact on the region. Officials provided detailed briefings on the current security grid, fresh intelligence inputs, and measures underway in both hinterland and border areas.
The situation along the LoC was also reviewed, with agencies updating the LG on infiltration attempts, surveillance activities, and the readiness of troops in forward locations. Directions were issued for enhanced inter-agency coordination and continuous monitoring along vulnerable stretches.
Winter preparedness formed a major part of the deliberations, with forces outlining logistics, accessibility plans for high-altitude posts, and strategies to maintain communication and mobility during heavy snowfall. Contingency plans for weather-related challenges were also examined.
The LG was further briefed on ongoing efforts to dismantle the support infrastructure of terror outfits across the Union Territory.
