SRINAGAR: Justice Arun Palli was formally sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court on Wednesday. The oath of office was administered by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The oath-taking ceremony, though modest, was marked by its dignified atmosphere and was held at the Convention Centre. It was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, judges from the High Court, members of the subordinate judiciary, and other officials.
Among those present were Justice G.S. Sandhawalia, Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, as well as sitting and retired judges from Justice Palli’s parent High Court of Punjab and Haryana. Advocates, friends, and family members also graced the occasion.
