Search Operation Launched in J&K’s Samba District

JAMMU, May 17: Security forces launched a search operation in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday following reports of suspicious movement by three suspected terrorists near a forested area, officials said.A joint team comprising police and paramilitary personnel cordoned off Nangal, Chilladanga, Goran, and adjoining forest areas in the early hours of the morning to conduct a thorough search, which was ongoing at the time of reporting.According to officials, the operation was initiated after local residents alerted the police about the movement of three unidentified individuals during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
