SRINAGAR: Two security personnel sustained injuries in a gunfight with militants in the Kulnar area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday morning.
The encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation based on credible intelligence about militant presence in the area. “As the forces were conducting the search, militants hiding in the area opened fire, resulting in a brief exchange of gunfire,” police said.
The injured personnel were promptly moved to a medical facility for treatment. Security forces have sealed off the area, and a large-scale search operation is underway to track down the attackers.
