Srinagar: Police on Sunday apprehended a shopkeeper for allegedly selling kerosene oil and diesel illegally in the Imamsahib area of Shopian district.

Officials said a team from Police Station Imamsahib conducted a routine inspection and found the shop involved in unauthorized sale of petroleum products. During the operation, around 250 litres of kerosene oil and nearly 300 litres of diesel were seized.

The shopkeeper was taken into custody, and the seized fuel was confiscated on the spot. Police said a case is being processed and an FIR will be registered under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway.
