Jammu & Kashmir, April 30:
The Indian Army on Tuesday reported a strong and calibrated response to unprovoked firing initiated by Pakistani forces along multiple sectors of the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of April 29 and 30. The firing targeted Indian forward posts in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors of the Jammu region, and was later extended to Baramulla and Kupwara districts in north Kashmir, as well as the Pargwal sector along the International Border.
“Pakistani Army posts opened unprovoked small-arms fire opposite our positions in several sectors. Indian troops responded swiftly and in a measured manner,” the Army said in an official statement.
This marks the sixth straight day of ceasefire violations by Pakistan, starting from the night of April 25-26. According to Indian defense sources, the Army has maintained a state of high alert and continues to respond appropriately to every instance of cross-border aggression.
Meanwhile, Pakistan-based cyber operatives have intensified attempts to breach Indian digital infrastructure, shifting their focus from secured defense networks to more vulnerable public-facing platforms. A hacking group identifying itself as “IOK Hacker” (Internet of Khilafah) has reportedly targeted educational and welfare websites in an effort to deface pages, disrupt services, and extract user data.
Among the affected sites were those of the Army Public School (APS) Srinagar and APS Ranikhet, both subjected to propaganda-driven cyber assaults. APS Srinagar also endured a distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Further attempts were made to infiltrate the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) database and the Indian Air Force Placement Organisation’s online portal.
Indian cybersecurity teams quickly detected and neutralized the intrusions in real-time, successfully isolating the affected systems. No sensitive or classified information was compromised, officials confirmed.
These incidents underscore both the persistence and limitations of adversarial efforts, with India’s defense and cyber forces demonstrating preparedness on multiple fronts.
