SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday accused Pakistan of persistently supporting terrorism in the region, emphasizing that the Union Territory’s security forces are fully prepared to counter any threat to peace.
Speaking at a public event in Srinagar, Sinha said Pakistan, despite its internal instability, is actively attempting to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir by sending militants across the border.
“Even though it is struggling on multiple fronts, Pakistan continues to back terrorism and tries to disrupt the region’s peace through infiltration attempts,” he remarked.
He asserted that the security apparatus in the Union Territory has consistently foiled such attempts. “Our forces are vigilant and strong enough to deal with any hostile action. We will respond appropriately to any provocation,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the government’s clear stance on security. “Maintaining peace and law and order remains our top priority. Without peace, development is not possible,” he noted.
He also praised the coordinated efforts of the armed forces, police, and intelligence agencies in ensuring a relatively stable and secure environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
