Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather advisory forecasting multiple spells of rain and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days.
According to the advisory, light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely at most places between January 22 and 24, with the intensity expected to increase on January 23. The weather department has warned of heavy rain and snowfall over a few districts of the Pir Panjal range and South Kashmir during this period.
The advisory further states that another moderate spell of rain and snow is expected to affect most parts of the Union Territory from January 26 to 28, which could lead to a further drop in temperatures and disruption in normal life.
Authorities have advised residents, especially those living in higher reaches, to remain cautious. Travelers are also urged to check road conditions before undertaking journeys, as snowfall may impact vehicular movement on key routes, including mountain passes.
Meanwhile, farmers, horticulturists, and tourists have been advised to follow official weather updates and take necessary precautions.
