Handwara, June 21:
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, has reaffirmed his commitment to a “Zero Tolerance” policy against drug abuse and terrorism in the region. Emphasizing the importance of community support, he said the police are taking stringent measures to protect the youth and ensure lasting peace.
“With the unwavering support of the people of Handwara, we are taking decisive action—seizing properties, filing FIRs, and detaining those who seek to destroy our youth through drugs and terrorism,” said SSP Choudhary.
The SSP noted that law enforcement agencies have intensified operations across the district, targeting those involved in illicit activities. He appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police in their efforts to build a safer and more secure future.
“Together, we will safeguard peace and secure a better tomorrow,” he asserted.
The statement comes amid a broader crackdown by J&K Police to curb the twin threats of drug trafficking and terrorism, both of which have seen a disturbing rise in recent years.
