Srinagar, June 26 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday reviewed the progress of the Special Assistance for Capital Investment scheme and directed officials to fast-track the submission of viable project proposals to the Government of India.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the timely utilization of central assistance to boost infrastructure and economic development in the Union Territory. He urged departments to prioritize projects with high public impact and ensure adherence to quality and timeline benchmarks.
The Special Assistance scheme aims to support capital expenditure in states and union territories through interest-free loans, with a focus on infrastructure, employment generation, and public service delivery.
