Srinagar, June 28: The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), G.N. Itoo, on Saturday issued a firm directive stating that no private coaching centre will be allowed to operate without formal registration.
Addressing media personnel, Itoo said, “Any individual or group intending to establish a coaching centre must first obtain registration. One of the key advantages of registering is the mandatory 10 percent reservation for underprivileged students.”
He further informed that existing coaching centres have been given a one-month deadline to complete or renew their registration to continue operations.
“While many centres already possess registration, all of them are now required to undergo renewal to remain functional,” Itoo added.
The director underscored that student safety remains a top priority and is a central requirement for registration, as outlined by the School Education Department’s guidelines.
Additionally, he made it clear that no coaching centre will be permitted to conduct classes during regular school hours.
