Khull, DH Pora, July 19 — In a significant step towards strengthening rural infrastructure, Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, today inaugurated a New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) and a Sheep Extension Centre in Khull village of DH Pora.
The NTPHC, constructed at a cost of ₹1.88 crore, aims to provide enhanced healthcare services to residents of Khull and adjoining villages. The Sheep Extension Centre, developed by the Roads and Buildings Department at a cost of ₹40.62 lakh, will offer regular veterinary care, minor surgeries, sheep shearing, and extension services to boost livestock welfare in the region.
Addressing a large public gathering, Itoo emphasized the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to ensuring essential services in rural areas. “The new health centre will play a vital role in providing accessible and improved healthcare to the local population,” she said.
Reaffirming the government’s pledge towards inclusive development, the Minister stated that rural progress remains a top priority. “The government is committed to the development and prosperity of all rural regions and will fulfill the promises made to the people,” she added.
Later, the Minister interacted with public delegations and individuals, listened to their grievances, and assured speedy redressal of genuine concerns.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan, Director Health Services Kashmir, and senior officials from the Agriculture Production, Health, and district administration departments were also present at the event.
