Srinagar, July 28:
Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Lidwas area of Harwan on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, the Army said.
According to officials, the gunfight erupted early Monday morning after a joint team of security forces launched a search operation in the area following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.
“In an intense firefight, three terrorists have been neutralised. The operation is still underway,” the Army said in a brief statement.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and are conducting a thorough search to rule out the presence of any remaining militants. Further details are awaited.
