Srinagar, July 25: Minister Sakina Itoo on Friday criticized the ongoing doctors’ strike at SMHS Hospital, calling it “unjustified” and “unacceptable,” especially as it caused distress to poor patients.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the hospital, Itoo expressed dismay over the disruption of services, stating that hospitals should never halt care for patients.

“Any grievances should be addressed through legal and procedural channels—not by shutting down vital services,” she said, adding that an inquiry will be conducted and necessary action taken.
