SRINAGAR: Fresh snowfall was recorded at Zero Point Zojila and Drass on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, while widespread rainfall continued across the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar, leading to a sharp drop in temperatures.

In north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, a flash-flood-like situation occurred near Darul Uloom Rahimiya on the Srinagar–Bandipora road after water and mud entered several homes. Officials said two houses suffered partial damage.

Two persons, including a minor, sustained minor injuries in the incident. One was discharged after receiving first aid, while the other is undergoing treatment at District Hospital Bandipora.

Meanwhile, several areas of the Jammu division continued to witness warm weather. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, gusty winds and hailstorms across Jammu and Kashmir over the next two days.
