SRINAGAR: Dengue has resurfaced in Jammu and Kashmir, with 23 confirmed cases reported so far this year. Of these, 20 are from the Jammu division, while three are from outside the Union Territory. No cases have been reported from the Kashmir division.
State Malariologist Dr. DJ Raina urged the public to remain vigilant despite the low numbers. “There’s no need to panic, but preventive measures are essential,” he said, noting that while testing has increased, the positivity rate remains low.
To curb the spread, authorities have launched control measures, including the release of bio-larvicide fish, fogging, spraying, and a UT-wide awareness campaign via print, electronic, and social media. Community outreach and miking are also being used to promote safe practices.
