NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Dr. Karan Singh on Saturday responded to the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that necessary steps had been taken. Emphasizing the need for restraint, he said, “It is better if we do not go to war now, but we will see how the situation develops.”
Dr. Singh, a veteran political figure from Jammu and Kashmir, emphasized that while strong measures are necessary to counter terrorism, escalation into a broader conflict must be avoided at this stage. “Past experiences have shown that while retaliation is sometimes unavoidable, maintaining strategic patience is crucial for long-term stability,” he said.
The Pahalgam attack has drawn widespread condemnation from across the political spectrum, with leaders urging unity and vigilance in the face of attempts to destabilize peace in the region.
