Srinagar, May 16: Police in Sopore subdivision of North Kashmir on Saturday launched coordinated search operations at over 15 locations in Bomai, Warpora, Sopore and Tarzoo areas of Baramulla district as part of an investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) linked to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).

According to officials, the raids were conducted in connection with an ongoing probe into the activities of the proscribed organisation and individuals suspected of having associations with the network in the region.

Security forces assisted police teams during the simultaneous searches, which were aimed at gathering evidence and examining possible links connected to the case registered under the UAPA.
