SRINAGAR, — As part of the Jammu & Kashmir Government’s public outreach initiative, Srinagar Police on Thursday organised a Lok Darbar-cum-Awareness Programme on New Criminal Laws (Thana Diwas) across multiple police stations and police posts in the summer capital.
The events, held simultaneously at various locations, aimed to bridge the gap between the police and the public while familiarising citizens with the newly enacted criminal laws replacing the IPC, CrPC and Evidence Act. Officers briefed participants about key provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), highlighting reforms intended to make the justice system more people-friendly and efficient.
