SRINAGAR: Tarun Kapoor, Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), will visit Srinagar on Sunday to review key projects under the Smart City initiative.
According to top officials, Kapoor will chair a high-level meeting at the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) headquarters to assess ongoing and completed infrastructure works aimed at modernizing the city. He is also expected to inspect major public assets, including the iconic Clock Tower at Lal Chowk and the newly developed Raj Bagh–Silk Factory Road riverfront.
The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on strengthening urban governance in Jammu and Kashmir. Kapoor’s review is likely to influence the next phase of development in Srinagar. A 1987-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, Kapoor is known for his expertise in energy and infrastructure and currently oversees key economic portfolios in the PMO.
