Jammu, May 1: Intensifying its campaign against cross-border terrorism, police on Thursday attached the immovable property of a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
The action was taken under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) following a case registered at the Mendhar police station, officials said.
The property—measuring one kanal and 11 marlas of agricultural land—is situated in the Kasblari area of Mankote tehsil. It belongs to Mohammad Riyaz, son of Sain, a local resident currently based in Pakistan and working as a handler for the proscribed terror outfit, they added.
Riyaz is a wanted individual involved in multiple terror-related cases, according to police sources.
Authorities said the move is part of a broader strategy to choke the financial and logistical networks that aid terrorism in the region.
