SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four individuals after conducting coordinated raids at 22 locations across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, leading to the recovery of a large cache of weapons, over ₹1 crore in cash, and incriminating digital evidence.

Teams carried out searches at seven sites in Bihar’s Nalanda, Sheikhpura and Patna districts; 13 in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district; and two in Haryana’s Kurukshetra district. The operation resulted in the seizure of arms and ammunition of various calibres, electronic devices loaded with suspicious data, and forged identity documents.

Those arrested include Shashi Prakash (Patna), Ravi Ranjan Singh (Sheikhpura), and Vijay Kalra and Kush Kalra (Kurukshetra). According to the NIA, they were part of a larger syndicate involved in trafficking and trading illegal ammunition transported from Haryana to Uttar Pradesh and then supplied to Bihar and other regions.

The investigation stems from a case registered in July 2025, when Bihar Police apprehended four suspects—Rajendra Prasad, Kumar Abhijit, Shatrudhan Sharma and Vishal Kumar—following multiple arms seizures. The NIA assumed charge of the probe in August on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs and is continuing its investigation into the broader network.
