New Delhi, Dec 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Minister for Jal Shakti here and discussed issues related to the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Union Territory, officials said.
The discussions focused on the early release of pending central funds to clear work-done claims and restart several stalled water supply schemes, many of which are at an advanced stage of completion.
The Chief Minister assured that the J&K government would ensure timely execution of projects, close monitoring and achievement of targets under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He reiterated the commitment to realise the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ objective of providing functional household tap connections to rural households in the Union Territory with continued support from the Centre.
He was accompanied by ministers and senior officials during the meeting, the officials added.
