SRINAGAR: A man has been detained by Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Samba district after several Pakistani phone numbers were allegedly found in his call records.

Identified as Farooq Ahmed, a resident of the Poonch district, the individual was reportedly seen wandering suspiciously near the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

Sources said that a preliminary examination of his mobile phone revealed incoming calls from at least three Pakistani numbers.

Police have launched an investigation to trace both his past and potential future connections, aiming to establish whether he has any association with militant groups or anti-national elements. Authorities are also looking into his background, recent movements, and communication patterns to determine the reason behind his presence in the area and to uncover any possible network he may be part of.
