Srinagar, Sep 05: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said major progress has been achieved in restoring road connectivity in Kishtwar and Udhampur after landslides and rains.
He said over 50% of the 400 damaged roads in Udhampur have been reopened, while work on the National Highway is continuing “on a war footing” and may be completed in the next two days, subject to weather.Connectivity to remote areas including Gordi, Latti, Dudu, and Basantgarh is also being restored. Drinking water supply in parts of Ramnagar, Moungri, Latti, and Basantgarh remains disrupted, though tankers are being deployed.
Dr Singh posted on X that NH-244 from Thathri to Kishtwar has reopened via a bypass, while the Kishtwar–Chatroo–Sinthan Top road will reopen today after blasting work to clear rocks.
