SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has rejected the bail plea of Arshad Ahmed Allaie from Sangam, Shopian, in a narco-terrorism case involving cross-border drug trafficking and terror financing.
A division bench of Justices Shahzad Azeem and Sindhu Sharma upheld the 2024 order of the 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu (Designated TADA/POTA Court), citing the serious nature of the charges. The court noted prima facie evidence of Allaie’s role in receiving heroin smuggled from Pakistan and funding terrorism through hawala channels. In 2019, 260 grams of heroin and ₹12 lakh in cash were recovered from his vehicle.
