New Delhi, Sept 24: Jammu and Kashmir Forest Minister Javed Rana on Wednesday met Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi to discuss key priorities of J&K’s forest and environment sector.
During the meeting, Rana flagged several critical issues including the need for dedicated funding for forest fire management, catchment area treatment, progress of CAMPA projects, wetland management, and the release of pending biodiversity grants.
He emphasized that stronger collaboration between the Centre and the Union Territory was vital for sustainable forest management, building climate resilience, and conserving J&K’s fragile ecological balance.
