SRINAGAR: Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was halted in both directions on Sunday after continuous heavy rainfall triggered landslides, mudslides, and falling stones along the route.

According to an official statement, several sections of the highway have been deemed unsafe for travel due to the ongoing weather conditions, causing significant disruptions in traffic flow. The road remains impassable at multiple crucial points.

Authorities have urged travelers to refrain from using NH-44 until the weather improves and the highway is cleared for safe passage. Restoration efforts will commence once conditions stabilize.
