Security forces on Monday unearthed a suspected militant hideout during a joint operation in Surankot village of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the recovery of five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), several radio sets, binoculars, blankets, and associated materials.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army’s Romeo Force following actionable intelligence inputs. Visuals shared by Poonch Police depicted the seized items, including communication equipment and explosive devices. This development comes a day after a high-level security meeting was convened in Srinagar by Kashmir Zone Inspector General of Police, V K Birdi.

The session, which included top officials from the Army, Police, Intelligence agencies, and CAPFs, reviewed regional security concerns and discussed strategies to counter emerging threats.
