SRINAGAR: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has launched a snow clearance operation on the historic Mughal Road following heavy snowfall that blocked stretches around Pir Ki Gali and adjoining areas.Officials said BRO teams, equipped with snow cutters and heavy machinery, are working round the clock to restore traffic between Shopian and the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch.“The operation is progressing despite tough weather conditions. The road will reopen only after a safety inspection,” a BRO official said.The Mughal Road, a key alternative route between the Kashmir Valley and Jammu region, remains closed for now, with authorities urging commuters to avoid travel until further notice.
