Srinagar, 9 December — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reviewed the progress of key housing and urban development projects being implemented under the Smart and Sustainable Cities Initiative (SASCI), aimed at transforming the urban landscape of Srinagar and Jammu.

During the high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that the ongoing initiatives should focus on creating quality infrastructure, improved living spaces, and enhanced aesthetic appeal in both capital cities. He highlighted the importance of blending modern development with the rich heritage and historic character of Srinagar and Jammu.

Officials briefed the Chief Minister on various components of the project, including new housing clusters, redevelopment of older neighbourhoods, and integrated urban beautification works such as green spaces, upgraded public utilities, and improved mobility corridors.
