Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir – Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary visited the flood-affected village of Bagna and surrounding areas on Monday to express his condolences and assess the damages following a cloudburst that struck the region.

The cloudburst, which occurred in the early hours, caused flash floods that resulted in the tragic deaths of two children and an elderly man. Several homes and farmlands in the affected areas were severely damaged. The Deputy Commissioner offered his heartfelt sympathy to the grieving families and assured them of all possible assistance.

During his visit, Chaudhary stated, “When the cloudburst occurred here, as you saw, the most affected area in Ramban was this very region.” He further emphasized that the local administration was working to provide immediate relief to those affected, including food, shelter, and medical aid.

The incident has prompted swift action from the district administration, with rescue teams being deployed to evacuate stranded individuals and assess the full extent of the damage.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are coordinating efforts for long-term rehabilitation of the affected communities.
