Ganderbal, — The Chief Minister today laid the foundation stones for several vital road development projects in Ganderbal, aimed at strengthening the region’s connectivity and easing transportation for local residents.
The major works include the upgradation and widening of the Dak Bunglow Fatehpora–Gadoora road, a project worth ₹5.2 crore, which is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and accessibility between key areas of the district.
In addition, the Chief Minister inaugurated the upgradation of various link roads in the Sherpathri Block, sanctioned at a cost of ₹8.9 crore. Officials said these improvements will enhance mobility for several rural pockets, boosting economic activities and ensuring better access to essential services.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure across Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. He emphasized that the projects would not only improve road conditions but also contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Ganderbal.
Local residents welcomed the initiatives, expressing hope that the upgraded road network would address long-standing connectivity issues and improve daily commuting experiences.
Work on the projects is expected to commence shortly, officials added.
