Srinagar, Aug 2: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Saturday welcomed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s recent call for the Centre to address the emotional and political disconnect between New Delhi and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Calling the statement a “significant and meaningful appeal,” Bukhari said it reflects Mirwaiz’s acknowledgment that resolving J&K’s issues rests with the Government of India.
He urged the Centre to respond with confidence-building measures (CBMs) to bridge the trust gap, reminding it of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own promise to address the “dil ki doori” after the abrogation of Article 370.
