SRINAGAR, July 14: The Baramulla district administration has issued a weather advisory following forecasts of heavy rain, gusty winds, and possible thunderstorms or cloudbursts across the Kashmir Valley.
The advisory, issued by the Additional District Magistrate, urges residents—especially those in low-lying, flood-prone, and hilly areas—to stay alert and follow safety precautions.
People are advised to:
- Avoid going near nallahs, streams, and flooded areas.
- Stay indoors unless travel is essential; use rain gear and drive cautiously if traveling.
- Keep emergency supplies ready and monitor local weather updates.
- Seek safer locations in consultation with authorities if living in waterlogged zones.
- Avoid landslide-prone areas and fast-flowing streams.
The administration stressed prioritizing safety and remaining vigilant during the ongoing weather conditions.
