Srinagar, Sep 05: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi on Friday condemned the vandalism of the national emblem at Dargah Hazratbal, calling it an insult to the shrine and the Muslim community.Addressing reporters inside the shrine complex, she said, “Those behind this act are no less than terrorists. I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Home Minister Amit Shah ji, and law enforcement agencies to ensure their immediate arrest.” She described the incident as a personal shock, adding it felt “like a cloudburst” upon witnessing the damage.

Dr Andrabi blamed political workers for engineering the chaos, saying FIRs will be filed against all involved, including the MLA whose tweet “fueled the situation.”Reiterating her commitment, she said the Waqf Board’s renovation of Hazratbal was meant to strengthen its sanctity and public trust. “Shrines are places of worship, not politics. We will not let such disgraceful acts derail our efforts,” she added.
