New Delhi, May 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held a meeting with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of border states adjoining Pakistan and Nepal to review the security and preparedness measures in light of emerging challenges.
In the meeting, Shah emphasized the need to ensure the continuous availability of essential goods and services in the concerned states. He directed authorities to keep relief and rescue forces, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Civil Defence, Home Guards, and National Cadet Corps (NCC), on high alert to effectively manage any potential situation.
The Home Minister also instructed state administrations to monitor and act swiftly against anti-national propaganda across all media platforms. He stressed the importance of maintaining seamless communication and enhanced security at vulnerable points along the borders.
The meeting comes amid heightened alert in certain border areas, prompting central and state agencies to strengthen coordination and response mechanisms.
