Jammu, Aug 31 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah is arriving in Jammu this evening on a two-day visit to review the flood situation triggered by heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides that have claimed nearly 170 lives, including over 130 pilgrims of Machail Mata and Vaishno Devi.
Shah will stay overnight at Raj Bhawan. On September 1, he will conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas at 10:45 am, followed by a review meeting on relief and restoration efforts at 11:30 am.
He will be accompanied by senior Home Ministry officials, while Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top J&K officers will brief him on ongoing rescue and relief operations.
