Tulmulla (J&K), June 3 –
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said the significant gathering of devotees at the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela is a “positive sign,” particularly following the recent terror incident in Pahalgam.
After paying obeisance at the Ragnya Devi temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal district, the LG remarked, “This is the first large gathering since April 22. The presence of so many devotees reflects hope and confidence among the people.”
He assured that the administration has made adequate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the mela and noted that work on the yatri niwas (pilgrim lodging facility) is progressing well.
On the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, which begins on July 3, Sinha stated that preparations, including security measures, have been finalized. “I urge devotees from across the country to participate and seek Baba’s blessings,” he added.
The Kheer Bhawani Mela is being celebrated at five Ragnya Bhagwati shrines—Tulmulla in Ganderbal, Manzgam and Devsar in Kulgam, Logripora in Anantnag, and Tikkar in Kupwara.
