Srinagar, May 4:
The Kashmir Weather Watch has issued a fresh weather advisory forecasting rain and thunderstorms across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon and evening.

According to the advisory, the weather system may bring lightning, gusty winds, and even hailstorms in some areas, particularly in the higher reaches and parts of the Kashmir Valley. Residents have been urged to take necessary precautions and avoid outdoor activities during the period of intense weather.

“People are advised to stay indoors at safer locations during thunder and lightning to minimize risk,” the advisory stated.

This weather activity is attributed to a western disturbance currently affecting the region, which typically brings moisture-laden winds and unstable atmospheric conditions conducive to storm formation.

Authorities and local disaster response teams are monitoring the situation closely. Travelers and farmers have also been advised to take precautions.
