May 15: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed Pakistan’s openness to dialogue with India, emphasizing the need for peaceful engagement between the two neighbours.
During a visit to the Kamra air base in Punjab province, where he met with officers and personnel recently involved in a military standoff with India, the Prime Minister stated, “We are ready to engage in talks with India for the sake of peace.”
Sharif’s comments come amid heightened tensions between the two countries. While details of the recent confrontation remain limited, his remarks appear to signal a willingness to de-escalate and pursue diplomatic channels.
